I've had some time to think about this so I decided to share my thoughts on the anti-Trump Rally. Overall, I saw freedom of speech die a little that day.
I started the event by walking through he anti folks. They were a fun bunch, standing around, drinking their coffee. After that, I walked around to the Trump folks. When I got there, they were decrying the division in the country and were calling for unity. They were Trump fans and that was ok. That's how our country works.
Then, the anti folks came around the corner. At the same time, a group of black-clad "anarchists" came from the other direction. The anti folks began walking through the Trump rally, chanting. The anarchists began to do what they do - agitate. It seems as if the goal of the anti folks went from being anti-Trump to shutting down the Trump rally.
Now, I am by no means a fan of 45. I think he's a danger to this country. But I also believe in free speech and the beauty of differing opinions. I was truly disgusted by the way that the anti folks shut down the Trump folks peaceful rally. Their actions sparked off a confrontation that didn't need to happen. And I place a lot of that blame solely on the backs of the anarchist crowd. I saw, firsthand, how they did things to purposely cause disruption. I personally saw them pushing Trumpers, blocking their access and walkways and causing problems that didn't need to happen. To me, this was out of place and only gave Trump people justification for their anger.
